A weekend of camping with Christine, Chris, Glenn and Hila in the New Forest started poorly with his arrival nicely timed after sunset - try putting a tent up in the dark and see what we mean.
Thanks however to the fine BBQing skills of his splendid chums his mood was much improved and even more so as they set of cycling the next day through the woods. It is fair to say that cycling is not his natural activity (he last cycled 10 years ago and stopped when his bike was nicked (much to his relied)) and his good cheer was tested to the max when he managed to get lost but the physical activity gave him a good feeling about himself.
Of course all good things come to an end and so Sunday dawned with a storm - try taking down a tent in a monsoon and see what we mean.

Car joy
We are delighted to be able to report that the problem with the gears on his car is no longer much of an issue, not, as you might expect, because it has been fixed but because the engine has blown up.
It is currently in a garage somewhere in the boonies but it gets better for reasons too dull to bore our gentle readers with the nice man from the AA had to take it to the nearest garage without him. Of course the kind AA man provided him with a piece of paper with the number of the garage and he's lost it.
So he has no idea where the car is and no way of finding out.
