Crikey more cricket

Deloitte

In the midst of the worst spell of weather in a very long time the team were genuinely astonished to find the skies cleared and the sun out for this fixture. Indeed as subsequent events would reveal it was to be the only decent day in a week.

Unfortunately the Chairman’s instruction to Earl to “copy down their book” fell on very deaf ears and so no record of the Deloitte innings survives. As your correspondent can recall they struggled enormously ending up all out off the last ball for 92.

Williams and Ringer A opened the batting. Williams chased a loose one and was caught behind cheaply (what a shocking season he is having). Ringers A & B were cruising along (Ringer A retiring on 28) before Ringer B caused a minor collapse running out Ringer C and getting himself stumped (off the worst bowler seen so far this season) 2 balls later. To make matters worse Sidoli (on debut) got himself stumped off a wide later in the same over.

Ringer D nurdled around a bit whilst Earl steadied the ship with his usual gusto before Wright came into finish the job very early on in the piece (12 overs). The opposition wanted to carry on just to give everyone a game. Wright soon put paid to those notions smashing 34 off two overs at which stage they gave up and a fine barbeque followed.

Another fine victory shame that we know nothing about the bowling stats.

The man of the match as always is a challenge it would probably be Earl if he had not ballsed up the scorebook and so has to be Wright.
